Top 10:
1: 'Bama
2: UT
3: THE Ohio State University
4: OU
5: UF
6: Boise State
7: Oregon
8: TCU
9: Iowa
10: Nebraska
TU will be out after this weekend against TTU. Potts to Leong with 3 seconds left, just like two years ago. A fella can dream anyway.
Bama is starting to look a whole lot like the Seminoles of the ‘90s.
It will real amusing to see next week’s if USAFA can pull off the surprise on Oklahoma.
One more Virginia Tech loss and Boise State can kiss it all goodbye. They get to spend the rest of the season (with the possible exception of oregon State) sitting at the bakery gorging themselves on cupcakes.
They NEEDED to both defeat VT and then have VT play at a level to keep them rated in the top 10 all season. VT has a tough ACC schedule. I cannot see how they win out after starting 0-2.
Boise will, once again, be on the outside looking in.
That game should be fun to watch. The Riverboat Gambler will pull some aces from his bag of tricks to try and beat Mack Brown.
Seems a bit pointless to project playoff/bowl game rankings at week 2.
Get your GUNS UP! Go Red Raiders!
Go Gators!
UT #2? Really? Not a very strong start for them so far so that’s quite a surprise. No “quality” wins yet either.
They’re gonna have to start playing at the opening whistle this weekend instead of waiting until the 2nd quarter ... otherwise they may not make it out of Lubbock with a win.
Bama is looking more like the Crimson Tide of the middle 60’s...back when Namath, Stabler and Steve Sloan were quarterbacks...back when I was in school there.
Go Hawks!
“Bama is starting to look a whole lot like the Seminoles of the 90s.”
And after OU beats Texas and runs the table, they will beat Alabama in the BCS title game, just like they beat FSU in 2001.
Did you know the Redskins are one of only 16 unbeaten teams left in the NFL this season?
No they won’t.
Roll Tide
Good grief. How did I manage to miss that my Dukes pulled off their biggest win ever (other than their FCS championship title)? Beating UVa once back in the ‘80s right about the time they went from Division II to I-AA was the only other huge intrastate win they ever had, and honestly, UVa in the early ‘80s was nothing to write home about, certainly not of the stature that Virginia Tech is (was?) nowadays.
It’s not quite as spectacular as Appalachian State over Michigan, but it’s almost as improbable.
