I wonder if they are the last of the Sunset Strip bands. Sky Saxon, Arthur Lee, and Jim Morrison have all passed on.

For What It's Worth is mistakenly taken to be an "important" song about the RFK, MLK, or Kent State shootings.
It was about the riot on the Sunset Strip.
Blame revisionist history documentary soundtracks.

I wonder if Neil Young ever learned how to sing. What a joke as a solo artist.

"Expecting To Fly"
There you stood
on the edge of your feather,
Expecting to fly.
While I laughed,
I wondered whether
I could wave goodbye,
Knowin' that you'd gone.
By the summer it was healing,
We had said goodbye.
All the years
we'd spent with feeling
Ended with a cry,
Babe, ended with a cry,
Babe, ended with a cry.
I tried so hard to stand
As I stumbled
and fell to the ground.
So hard to laugh as I fumbled
And reached for the love I found,
Knowin' it was gone.
If I never lived without you,
Now you know I'd die.
If I never said I loved you,
Now you know I'd try,
Babe, now you know I'd try.
Babe, now you know I'd try,
Babe.

When people say that I tell them they’re mixing up this song with “Ohio”.
Whatever I think of Young’s politics, he’s one of the very, very few libs who isn’t a hypocrit, and he puts his money where his mouth is.
I must be the only person who is just as interested that Leon Russell is going to play at this thing. Really enjoy his stuff.

He may not be a great singer, but he really does good charity work with his talents, so give him a bit of a break. “Neil and his wife founded the Bridge School, which develops and uses advanced technologies to aid in the instruction of children with severe speech and physical disabilities.” He has personally raised huge sums for the Bridge School.

Furay and Messina were together in Poco.

Yes, thank you, although I'm not always a fan, he does represent an person from another country who came here did pretty much many good things.

And he is a San Jose Sharks fan.....let’s cut him some slack.

Niel Young, once my musical hero when I was free and easy under the apple bough, is not not Johnny Appleseed but Johnny Rotten... a big mouth, bad haircut and no substance which, incidentally, goes a long way in Hollywood. Now he is stealing the image of Estaban:
Seriously.

Okay, I’ll give him the charity work (more than many with his level of success do); San Jose Sharks? Well, maybe...
But I note that none of y’all argued with my assessment of his talent. Booyah.

I get out Mad Dogs and Eng (Joe Cocker) every few months. Leon arranged most all of it. A great American talent.

Thanks, am so glad to hear he’s ok. I remembered him from when I was a teenager, and then he was just gone. I know he wrote songs that were covered and he toured and such, but he’s just kind of off the radar. A great 2-CD anthology came out a couple years ago with good liner notes, all the good songs, and I’ve really been enjoying getting reaquainted with his stuff. Thanks again for the info.
