I got a block on CAS, but that was it. Never got to play with it.

Oh yeah, I forgot. That's ANOTHER list I'm on. Thanks, pal! LOL

I think I like the CHEVRON over the triangle but you are correct the tip of the triangle is a razor sharp aiming point.

If you have a PVS-14, why mount it on the rifle, and be limited to night vision only through a shouldered rifle?

Put an IR laser on the rifle, and the 14 on your head, I’d suggest.

ANGLICO?

I went through the Marines' Amphibious Warfare School for my AOC (Army). A whole section of the course was on ANGLICO.

Redleg?

I was branched infantry, actually. I really gave artillery a lot of thought (the math was so much fun) but I loved sleeping in different mud every night. Too much of a free spirit to be tied to the trains.

Now that I'm a geezer, I tie my butt to the car seat everywhere I go.

Good looking optic......you have one now ?? Opinion / Review ?

IMO, the Micro T-1 is the s**t. Light, fast, it'll do NV and it's an Aimpoint.

For more ins and outs, here's a M4carbine.net thread discussing the T-1.

Put an IR laser on the rifle, and the 14 on your head, I’d suggest.

The PVS-14 comes with the head harness. With the right mount you can go back and forth from the rifle to the harness somewhat quickly. That harness however gets rough to wear after a while. They don't call it the "skull crusher" for nothing. It's also much more awkward to shoot with the harness as opposed to having it mounted on the rifle.

As for lasers, I'm not too keen on them with rifles. They often don't keep their zero well, and even if zeroed, they're touch-and-go at farther distances. < valley girl>Lasers are soooooo 1998< /valley girl>

With the PVS-14 behind a zeroed optic, you know that if you're seeing it you're likely hitting it.

You're not?

Dammit. I figured since we've known each other on FR for so long and that you're a Florida homeboy and that you're a renowned author, I'd borrow the $3,500 from you.

You have Freepmail.

LOL! Hey, I hadta ask!

When I bought my house, I soon learned to associate my new county with the smell of skunk. Finally came the day when one got smushed on the road in front of my neighbor’s house. Seeing as how nice he and his wife had been to me, I truly intended to dispose of the carcass for them. I got up there next to the thing, took a look at my short-handled shovel, and decided I wanted to keep it too much to use it. (Even breathing through my mouth my sinuses burned.) Having approached the disgusting mess with the best of intentions, I crept away with my tail between my legs.

If you can ever hunt down a copy of Bill Mauldin’s “A Sort of a Saga” about his childhood in rural New Mexico, it’s got an interesting story about skunks.

How do you manage without making the ole homestead uninhabitable?

Was that a criterion?

Well, Daddy always said “Don’t shoot anything you’re not willing to kill, and DON’T POINT THE GUN TOWARDS THE HOUSE!”
