SPEAKING OF SPORTS: Welcome to Yankee Hating Season
The Morning Journal ^ | Oct. 9, 2010 | Jim Ingraham

Posted on 10/09/2010 1:33:32 PM PDT by La Enchiladita

The New York Yankees this year had a payroll of $206 million. The San Diego Padres had a payroll of $37 million — and neither team won its division.

So who had the better year?

I think it was Paul McCartney who once said, “I don’t care too much for money ‘cause money can’t buy you a World Series championship, although it can pretty consistently get you into the playoffs.”

He’s right.

Lance Berkman is making $14.5 million this year. That’s more than the combined salaries of the Indians’ entire starting lineup in their last game of the season — and Berkman Thursday night was the No.8 hitter in the Yankees’ lineup. Not their cleanup hitter. Number eight.

Kerry Wood, a mere setup guy in the Yankees’ bullpen, is making $10.5 million.

I also enjoyed the Braves whooping the Jints’ arses last night, but if they don’t do the job the Phillies will.

You Yankee hater guys sound a lot like race-hatin’, class-warfare Democrats. Poor little baby boys. Live with it. The Yankees have won more world titles than your pathetic little teams. Especially, the Bah-stun Red Sox. And there’s nothing you can do to change the facts, high payroll, great players and all. (Though I will agree with you about Jeter.)

Read the article; it’s about more than the Wankers. He encompasses the current post-season, all the teams. And holler all you like, you can’t stop the whole country from hating the Wankers. LOL!!!

The Yankees spend much more money that every other team. They should win the World Series every year. The fact that they don’t shows that they are mismanaged.

I wouldn't recommend standing on the corner of E 175th and Jerome Ave in the Bronx calling the Yankees “wankers”.

(If you value your life).

MLB umpires also help the Skankies win by having one strike zone for them and a different strike zone for everyone else.

See this story below about how awful Hunter Wendelstedt was behind the plate in the Twins-Yanks ALDS game.

The umpiring is so bad this year that MLB management, players and umpires will have a summit on the state of umpiring on Dec. 3 just ahead of the start of the winter meetings.

How about that extra out the refs gave the Twins in the 9th in game 1?

Quit your whining. The Yanks are the gold standard of sports teams. Just ask the Mets how hard it is to win even with a big payroll.

I’m from Boston, and I don’t say ‘Bah-stun’.

(And I’ll take a losing Mets season than a winning Yankee one.)

They are called UMPIREs not REFs. This mistake tells me that you are a casual MLB fan. Just a typical Skankee fan that does not know much about the MLB outside of the Northeastern region.

How much do the Skankies pay umpires to call a one-sided game? The biased umpiring in favor of the Skankies has been going on for years. Ask any fan of an AL team west of the Mississippi River. It’s time for MLB umpires to call games fairly no matter who is playing.

Do people who live in the Bronx ever go to a Yankees game? That’s one of the poorest neighborhoods in America, with the luxurious new Yankee Stadium tickets out of reach of those people.

I understand Yankees caps have been adopted as the cap of choice of certain youth gangs. Though the gangs aren’t necessarily Yankee fans, or even know who plays for the Yankees.

“The Yanks are the gold standard of sports teams.”

Oh really?

Manchester United,Arsenal,Barcelona, Real Madrid aren’t sports teams?

Methinks you have a bit of Yankee fan arrogance.

Reminds me of when Obama said he was such a big White Sox fan. But he couldn’t name a favorite player. And he said how he used to go to games at “COMINSKY PARK”, as he pronounced it with an “N” in it. Any real baseball fan knows it was “COMISKEY PARK” with no “N” in it. So Obama isn’t really a big fan, just as this other person who called a baseball umpire a “REF” as in referee clearly doesn’t follow baseball so closely.

The Yankees are always in the playoffs.

So, they should be hated and punished for being successful? Sounds like resentment against achievement and hatred of the good for being the good. Baseball needs to accept the libtard idea that force must be used to promote equality of results. Runs need to be taken away from the Yankees and the other successful teams and redistributed to the other loser teams, so that every team can have a guaranteed win-loss record above some minimum amount. Not

wideawake,
I do not think you nor I nor anyone could effectively “manage” the circus of prima donna’s that is the N.Y. Yankees.
Only thing one can say is at least they get the job done for the money spent,,,,, unlike say the METS,
