I didn’t read the article.
Was the guilty teacher fired?
Because in the private sector, if someone were caught recording another worker without their knowledge and it resulted in a 610K loss, that employee would be fired. And this was not another worker, but a minor.
Are we screening teachers any more? It seems there are quite a few perverts in the classrooms these days.

the “school district” didn’t pay a dime, the taxpayers did. How is the civil suit going against the school official and how quickly did they fire her?

Hmmmm. That’s a pretty good picture for a laptop webcam. Great lighting, focus, composition.
Why can’t I do as well with a real camera?

Were the people who did it punished? Will they pay anything?
No? Just the taxpayers being punished? How is that supposed to teach the baddies a lesson exactly?

Taxpayers get screwed again. If this lawsuit teaches us anything it is that school systems should not, under any circumstances, be using taxpayer money to buy equipment to be used by students outside of school under any circumstances.

It seems there are quite a few perverts in the classrooms these days. The safe schools czar is okay with this. How else can you make sure they are sleeping well at night?

Joe, absolutely the last thing some School District slug who did this sort of thing to my son would have to worry about is a cash settlement.
Seriously...

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself) The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
