In Saudi, where they use Sharia Law, the purpose of the court is to fit a criminal to the crime, and a punishment follows in accordance with fixed standards.
Sharia law allows little discretion in sentencing.
That’s what got me. There’s no evidence of a crime being committed so let’s give the defendant 50 lashes and lock him up for six months as punishment for the nonexistent crime.
