I hope all of you will stop by.
This is typically a low volume ping list. Once a week for the thread and every once in a while for other FR threads posted that might be of interest.
If you would like to be added to or removed from the list please let me know by FreepMail or by posting to me.
I think that the secret to an abundant garden, Mo style, is to have some do it for you.
My garden is doing great, but we really need some rain. We may get some later this afternoon, but probably not enough for any runoff. My lawn is in dire need of moisture as well. I just hope we are not headed in for another dry winter this year.
Thank you for the ping.
I have not had nearly the time as previous years to spend in the garden but still enough to harvest some things.
So far only three light frosts this fall so I still have some veggies yielding at this time.
I have dug half of my sweet potatoes, and plan to do the rest today. I planted some fall radishes, spinach, turnips, a few snow peas, onions and a good number of my tomatoes plants survived the light frost. I noticed yesterday I also might have another picking of green beans.
The weather forecasters say things are about to change by the end of this upcoming week. And rain is said to be moving my direction sometime later today. If the forecasters are correct sounds like this will be my last week for harvesting and time to begin to put the garden space to clean up and rest during the winter months.
You really just need to stop listening to NPR...and get back to your dirt.
Please add us to your ping list. We’d appreciate it. This is the second week we’ve stumbled upon it, and would like to participate when we can. Looks like fun.
Been raining for several days this week, and now with the weekend approaching, actually I should say upon us, and the ground nice and soft we’ll be out picking weeds out of the Lily patch up on the hill, so no we won’t be wearing anything other than the old grubs as we’ll be on hands and knees git’n reel durty.
Hopefully this rain we’ve been having moves on pretty soon to someplace else that needs it as badly as we did. I think we’ve had enough now.
It’s snowing here......
Just planted garlic where I just harvested potatoes. Found a lot of potatoes I had missed in the process.
I planted garlic several days ago. I used the dirt from my garbage can potatoes. Nice dark, loose soil. I’ll have to cover them up with hay for the winter.
Pinging myself so remember to read this thread tomorrow.
Hey, I forget stuff. LOL
What is a good source for finding someone to identify a plant for you? My son had a massive allergic reaction to something in our yard but we cannot figure out what it is.
