Lasagne gardening is great on clay....Topped mine off with three year old saw dust that had cow/horse manure in it. Very successful. Now most of my gardener friends have at least one bed using this method. Even on larger areas of garden still compost in place and use “no till” method.

Don’t forget to use shredding materials..Ashes from fire place etc.

Cardboard can be used instead of newspapers for bottom layer of just ask local breakfast restaurants to save their papers for you.

Another question: Does the debris have to be shredded? Can I pile up unshredded dried leaves? What about old plants that I pull up for winter. Can I throw those on as well or must they also be shredded? Thanks!
