Oregon takes the number 1 spot surpassing Auburn in both human and computer rankings. TCU now is the top BCS Buster and has a chance to further soldify this ranking with this week's opponent Utah jumping 3 places to #5. Nebraska after destroying Mizzou jumps 7 spots. The really interesting question if 'Bama beats Auburn in the Iron Bowl and wins the SEC championship will 'Bama jump over the BCS Buster schools.

What does it mean for the BCS when 3 of the top 5 schools are from the Mountain West Conference (Boise starts MWC play next season) and the Mountain West is a non AQ. In my mind it proves that the BCS is a complete and total sham. The MWC is rated higher than both the Big East and the ACC.

BCS = Big Crock of Shiite

BCS is a joke...I’m amazed at how well the Tigers have played and the level of opponent they have beaten and Oregon jumps them beating a 3 loss USC team, New Mexico, Portland St, and a couple other crap Pac 10 teams...? Ohio State blows out an opponent and drops. LSU doesn’t play and moves up?....WTF?

Boise State drops again. That’s all you need to know about the BullCrap System.

Of course Alabama will jump the BCS busters if they win out. The SEC winner could have two losses and still have a shot at doing this.

BCS, if they win out, will likely have beaten as many as five ranked teams in yet another undefeated season. Yet they will have absolutely NO chance at playing in the “Championship” game.

I refuse to recognize a College Football “Champion” so long as it is decided by exit polls, and not on the field. Want to prove it’s fair? Show me a Boise State has a chance in hell of ever playing for the “title.”

Maybe it means people who love and play football, not soccer, are leaving traditional football powerhouses.

I am surprised Michiganders don’t have to repair their uniforms or play in burkas, for example. No offense to Michigan ‘cuz parts are outstandingly pretty. Other rust belt states are just as bad. You’ve gotta have money to launch and fund a big team. And you’ve gotta have men that grew up as clod-hoppers with strong ankles, shoulders that lift tractors, necks that know swinging axes & handling chainsaws, and thighs like iron.

They will NEVER give Boise State a shot at the “championship,” because they’ve seen them beat the “big boys.” They are scared to DEATH that Boise will beat the BCS conference team and bring the whole system tumbling down, so they’ve blacklisted them.

No matter what happens, or what Boise State does, they will never get a shot at it - never- No matter what.

I have nothing against Boise State, but the reason they can’t move up is they play a bunch of little teams. They are only playing 1 team in the top ten this season.

Sorry but you can’t win the rankings by playing the Little Sisters of the Poor every weekend.

Nobody wants to put Boise State on their schedule.

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=dw-boise110709

RUSTON, La. – Is it cowardice or collusion?

Boise State athletic director Gene Bleymaier is all but begging for a major opponent – any major opponent – to play his Broncos, particularly in 2011. He can hardly get his calls returned. Not by the SEC. Not by the Big Ten. Not by anyone.

Bleymaier is making a nearly unheard of offer in college football scheduling – Boise will bring its popular, high-profile, top-10 team to any stadium in any town to play any big name team in America in 2011. And they don’t have to return the date in Idaho.

So far, no one has bit.

The school acknowledges it needs to play tougher teams. Yet how can they beat quality opponents if quality opponents won’t play them?

I think Boise State should be disqualified from ever playing for a national championship as long as they have that BS, ugly blue field. I heard their athletic director (or some school official) say that they considered changing it this past year when they replaced it but that whenever someone looks at a TV and sees the blue field they immediately know it's Boise State. WTF? Seriously? I have a suggestion for him then. I think Boise State should wear pink uniforms and change the field to green. Then, when you look at the TV and see a team running around in pink uniforms, you'll immediatly know it's Boise State!

Because of that field, I can't even stand to watch them on TV. What a disservice to everyone and the NCAA should ban field colors like that.

Ok, sorry for the rant, but I feel better now. :o)

TCU is legit IMO. They have spanked everybody, including Baylor at Waco.
Baylor may not be a top ranked team, but they are good.
TCU smashed Air Force too. And Air Force came within two points of beating Oklahoma in Norman.
Also, TCU will play Utah and have a chance to smoke them too.
At least TCU has a good argument for their spot.

You are full of crap.

By the end of the year, Boise will have beaten 4, possibly 5, ranked teams, including a top ten, BCS conference team in Virginia Tech - on the road. They have beaten Oregon the last two years (who were propped as a championship contender both times - though they don’t have to face Boise this year and have their hopes destroyed again), and are missing one starter from the team that won a BCS bowl last year.

Boise State has tried to get the BCS Conference teams to schedule them, which the BCS chiefs admitted before Congress. They don’t want to schedule Boise because a loss disproportionately hurts them in the BCS computers as opposed to a victory, which doesn’t help much. They’d rather schedule an inferior Notre Dame team because of the fixed computer “push.” It is they who lack the courage, not Boise State, who also asked to join a BCS conference when realignment was being discussed. They were dismissed because of “regional” issues (read: TV market).

Boise’s conference is a top five conference now, anyway, so it is really a weak herring.

You can bark all you want, but it is obvious you are afraid Boise will embarrass your BCS “champion.” I don’t blame you for being petrified, though, as they keep besting every big conference team they face.

The Boise program is top notch. The way to gage a power for a team is to compare their results at year end against where the teams they beat end up in the won-lost columns. If that measure is used we might have Boise playing the SEC champions for the national title. I’m looking forward to an Auburn v Boise or Alabama v Boise for the title ... but I’m a Tide fan for thirty plus years now.

The rest of the country finds it hard to understand that the winner of the SEC is,for all intent and purposes, the best team in America.

Let ANY of the other “Top Ten” schools have an SEC schedule and then check their rankings.

Titus Young and Austin Pettis should both be drafted quickly in next years draft.

But TCU and Utah both make good arguments for making it, too. They play each other, plus Utah plays BCS-computer darling Notre Dame, while TCU beat a good 7-2 Baylor team in Waco.

Any of those three should be playing Auburn (if they win out).

Oregon benefitted immensely from MSU and Missouri losing as they jumped from #8 to #2 in the computer polls. Auburn moved up from #3 to #2 in the “human polls” and are a unanimous #1 in the computers. Auburn actually increased its BCS points from last week but Oregon increased them more. Auburn lead last week from #1 to #3 is less than it is this week from #2 to #3. Plain and simple, if Oregon and Auburn win out they will meet in Glendale.

War Eagle!

Boise State - as proven above - has offered to play any SEC team in that team’s own house. Nothing is asked for in return, nothing.

Every single SEC team has turned them down. That tells you all you need to know. The SEC knows Boise State is the best team in the country, and is yellow to the core for not wanting to be exposed by a non-BCS conference team.

The SEC emperor has no clothes on.

SEC Schedules are made 3 years in advance. That may explain the refusals. So if Boise wants to play them in 2014, maybe something can be worked out.

Your Bama scenarioe is correct, and even moreso if they beat SC in the SEC title game..actually, they'd clobber the Gamecocks...which would validate that their one loss was an aberration..a bad week..even if they don't play SC in the title game ( assuming they beat Auburn ) they'd still get jumped in the polls because of the overall strength of the SEC..the conference has produced the last FOUR national champions..with no doubt in each case..

BTW..I think that this is Auburn's year...FINALLY...

I know it's frustrating for you as a BSU fan, but com'on. You think that because you can win 1-2 "tough" games a year that you should have all sorts of respect. Unfortunately, the hard part about the SEC, BIG12, BigTen, etc. is that teams get beat up throughout the year. Even the "weak" teams can be tough. The week to week grind is what garners respect, not beating OSU or a weakened VT team. Those teams are middle of the pack or lower in the SEC, Big12 or BigTen.

I think BSU is a really good team. But because of the weak schedule no one knows just how good they are. It's that simple. Nev, Hawaii are nothing. VT lost to JMU! OSU is decent but has 3 losses already.

Boise can’t have it both ways. Bobby Bowden built FSU by playing “anyone, anywhere, anytime” but they won’t do it. They won’t accept 2 for 1s or one off games.

I would have to find the source, but I believe I heard the AD at one of the big SEC schools say they offered Boise a million for one game and they were turned down.

Boise cannot sit in their 30-40k stadium and expect 1 for 1 home and homes with big schools.

Boise is spinning....if you notice they ALWAYS have a lot of time before their “big games”...to get injuries healed and to have time to prepare.

If they had to play Alabama’s schedule, the attrition would get them by the second half of the schedule.

In a one off game, sure they could win, but they couldn’t play Penn St, Florida, Arkansas, S. Carolina, LSU, Tennessee, Miss St, Auburn etc week after week because they don’t have the depth to survive.

And they won’t take the games to prove that theory wrong.

Too bad Boise....too bad. Man up and play somebody.

-—”Those teams are middle of the pack or lower in the SEC, Big12 or BigTen.”-—

And yet, that never seems to matter when considering wins over those teams by Ohio State, Alabama, or Nebraska. They are big conference teams, so beating them is always hard and can’t be seen as a lesser win for Ohio State/Alabama/Nebraska.

But when Boise State does it - hey! That does really count. Sure, they are big conference teams, but that doesn’t mean it’s hard to beat them.......

Boise State put OSU and VT on the schedule this year, et al, and it didn’t make a damn bit of difference; neither will having beat 4-5 ranked teams by the end of the year. Next year they have ‘Ol Miss, et al. They can run the tables then, too, but it won’t matter. It never does, because it’s not really about the opponents.

It’s about keeping the money in the big conferences.

I keep hearing the argument about who Boise State plays. How many of you BCS apologists’ big conference teams could go into Boise and win? I’ll take that bet any day.

I like how no one ever thinks Boise or TCU would gain anything if they joined the Big XII or SEC. Is it likely they could handle the schedule right now? Probably not. With the advantage of being in that conference their recruiting would improve dramatically. Add that to a well coached program and they would be able to compete in short order.

You’re team must wear some weird, special contact lenses to protect your eyes or something. If BSU would ditch that BS blue field I guarantee you, you’d get more votes. You can bitch all you want about schedules but geez, that field has got to go.
