And on the morning after, Chris Plante didn't rest. There was no time for that. Not when there was so much crowing to do.
Conservatively speaking, a radio host on the rise
"We're singing and a-singing!" trilled Plante, starting off his daily talk show on WMAL-AM on Wednesday to the strains of the gospel-pop tune "Oh Happy Day." "The citizens of our great land, the taxpayers, the voters have spoken. And now the question: What is the message they just delivered?"
Never shy with an opinion, Plante quickly offered his own answer: "Solid results in the House. Some mixed results in the Senate. Huge gains in the governors' mansions." Later, he added, "Yeah, the Democrats got their butts kicked."
Tuesday was a good day for Republicans, which meant it was an excellent day for WMAL, a news-talk station stacked top to bottom with conservative talkers and the listeners who love them. Plante occupies the mid-morning slot, following former House Republican (and onetime "Love Boat" star) Fred Grandy in morning drive; Plante's show precedes the mightiest righty of them all, Rush Limbaugh, whose syndicated show is broadcast in midday.

YEE-HA!
The Planteman made it in The Washington Post.
630 WMAL/CHRIS PLANTE PING LIST.
I love Chris Plante ping!
Yeah, I was listening yesterday morning and he actually had two WP reporters sitting in with him during his show. Oh the glee he exhibited in rubbing their noses in the Rat losses! They did not sound like happy campers.
I’m at work and can’t listen live (western pa) but I download his podcast and enjoy listening that way instead after my favorite Quinn & Rose morning show on WPGB in Pittsburgh
I’m listening to his Nov 3 show right now.
LOVE CHRIS PLANTE!
I dumped WMAL when they dumped Andy Parks.
Any word on where Andy is now?
Too bad I’m not longer listening.
Making it to the Washington Post is less praise worthy than making it to the toilet.
I almost pinged you to this article but then I read he’s a social moderate? He’s pro pot, abortion and Sodomite rights? I never ever got that from anything he’s said. I’m very disappointed :o(

I think Paul Farhi listened to one show and did an interview. This article was pretty light weight if you asked me.
He’s always been pretty upfront about his libertarian tendencies, which certainly don’t always conincide with conservatism, unforuntately. I guess, considering where we are these days, I have to take an “enemy of my enemy” approach. At least until he runs for office.
;-)
He’s not pro-abortion — he’s for ‘preserving the right to abortion’, undoubtly he’s talking about certain cases of rape and/or when the health of the mother is at stake.
He’s not pro-gay marriage — he just said gay unions. I believe that he’s not a fan of giving gays the same rights as a man and a woman in marriage.
I’m not too concerned about his pro-pot stance. Many Libertarians and Conservatives want to decriminalize it, and it’s up to their own point of view. He didn’t say “make this legal now”. I think he’s just talking about how the justice system handles pot cases.
Chris is a national treasure. He is on the level of Rush and Levin in terms of brains, passion and entertainment value in my view. There is no reason why he shouldn’t be nationally syndicated, and I expect he eventually will be.
