I always bought a Tiger Beat magazine and after my parents died I found a poster in the attic that was mine. It had the Osmond brothers on one side and the Jackson 5 on the other. I gave it to my pre-teen son who was a big Michael Jackson fan and told him to see what Michael looked like when he was his age.
That boy looked at me like I was off my rocker and said in that condescending tone of pre-teens “Mother, Michael Jackson’s not black!”
As a joke from about 15 yrs ago went, only in America can a poor black boy grow up to become a rich white woman
I remember resenting David Cassidy because he replaced Bobby Sherman in Tiger Beat! LOL
