NEW YORK (CBS) Lisa Blount, an Academy Award-winning producer and actress born in Arkansas, has died at the age of 53.
According to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, Blount was found dead Wednesday at her home in Little Rock by her mother. Her husband, actor and director Ray McKinnon, was out of town this week.
Pulaski County Coroner Garland Camper told the newspaper that there were no signs of foul play. He said Blount appeared to have died on Monday.
Blount is best known for playing Debra Winger's friend, Lynette Pomeroy, in the classic 1982 film "An Officer and a Gentleman," which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for best supporting actress.

I always loved her in An Officer and a Gentleman..........she was so excellent.
I do have to wonder about her relationship.......she died on Monday & was found on Wednesday......why did her husband not call the police when he could not get ahold of her? very sad................
I agree with you. She was absolutely terrific in that movie.

That’s because the answer was already posted in this thread. Try reading and comprehending what is actually posted.
My son was diagnosed with ITP 33 yrs. ago. His platelet count runs around 85,000 at this point (normal is 150,000-450,000). When he was a child, his count went as low as 7,500 and no hemorrhaging took place. Just had to be very careful he received no head injury.
I'd say there were other complications.
The picture in the article you linked shows the wrong woman. Unless the actress is also a social worker who saved someone’s life and won an award...
You need to take that up with the editor of that specific website. Perhaps you can post that in their comments section following the article.
I should have worded my post differently: I wasn’t implying you had anything to do with her photo being wrong. You got it right, they got theirs wrong. :)
