Wolf Ping!
Some interesting comments by wolf lovers after the article.
Solution, keep dropping them until the pack is either obliterated or retreats...
Wow - we were just there a few weeks ago.
Sounds like these guys are experienced hunters and were pretty spooked, don’t blame them.
No they are not Rep. Tutvedt. The County Sheriff can order the Feds out of his County any time he choses. And you're free to introduce Legislation at the State level to allow the hunting of wolves.
Grow some balls and tell the Feds to go p*** up a rope. Let Obama order Federal troops into Montana to enforce his will. Then things will get really interesting.
Oooops! I thought they were coyotes.

This recent thread demonstrates that Grizzlies are more challenging than wolves. (But who didn’t know that?)
I’d love to have a taxidermied wolf on my wall.
This is why I like to pack a pistol when hunting.
OTOH, if the wolves are already on the elk by the time you get back, too bad. Finders keepers.
Leaving a big pile of fresh meat overnight two hours from the road in the wilderness - I’m surprised any was left by the time he returned other than a red stain. He rang the dinner bell and left - when with better planning, the meat could have been in his truck - and I’m no wolf lover.
There’s a lot to be said for that. The Governor of Idaho just informed the feds in the last few weeks they were no longer going to enforce the federal protection of wolves. Too bad he didn’t go a little further and request the ID legislature to set a season for a wolf hunt.
He's just pissed off that he wasn't prepared for the competition.
Getting the federales out of the picture is almost always a good idea.
That’s not an uncommon thing in elk hunting, it’s a common practice.
My aunt’s cousin was the first person prosecuted, and then jailed, for killing a wolf on his ranch outside of Red Lodge, MT, after the re-introduction of wolves to Montana. They were killing his sheep, and he ended up in federal prison for protecting his livelihood.
Wonder what caliber rifle the guy had. Any guesses? My choice would be a 300 win mag.
It makes zero sense to me to disallow people to kill large predators that are preying on their livestock. I say this as someone who loves nature and animals, and an avid nature photographer.
