FILE PHOTO

About the size of a fat wallet.

A ".32-caliber semi-automatic Kel-Tec brand pistol" would be small like a PPK.

Kel-Tec P32

Now let’s hear from people who say that .32 will not do any damage.

Duct tape? Probably a prop from a Bruce Willis movie.

If this happened in England the guy would have been charged with having an unlicensed weapon ...happened to a retiree who found an old rusted shotgun, took it to the police station and they charged him ....

Transporting a firearm anywhere except directly to and from hunting or target practice, or directly to / from your residence to a business for purposes of repair or sale is a felony in New Jersey. You can lawfully possess handguns in NJ so I guess it is not as bad as England ... but close.

I believe that the river damaged the .32 more than the .32 damaged the river. /s

There are probably more guns at the bottom of the Hudson River than there are carp...

Fisherman reels in gun from Hudson River

Must be from one of the many boating-related gun collection losses I've heard bewailed here on FR.

Nice little gun. But don't fire Aguila ammo in it. My daughter inherited one from my first wife's father. She damaged it by firing Aguila, which is pretty hot ammunition. Now it rests in the gun safe. Her gun is now a Glock 17.

Were the fishermen to be using magnets instead of hooks, I imagine there would be a lot more recovered guns.

Fell off a boat. Probably taped in a strategic place for self defense.

I had one that looked about that bad. I boiled it in radiator cleaner about an hour and the rust came off in sheets. It cleaned up real good.
