The Washington Redskins and quarterback Donovan McNabb have agreed to five-year contract extension, reports NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora, citing a league source.

The deal, which locks in McNabb until 2015, includes $40 million guaranteed and could be worth up to a maximum of $88 million, including $10 million in incentives. The deal averages $15.5 million per season, according to the source.

Sounds like a moron Snyder move once aqain.

McNabbs agent probably whined about a commitment and Snyder overreacted.

I predict that Shanahan will be leaving next year, two years tops. LOL, snyder is worse than Angelos.

"McNabb is still a decent qb, but on most teams he would be a backup."

I think that's true. Although, I don't think he runs an office as nearly as well as a guy like Kitna, or even Collins. $14M/Year with $40M being guaranteed is just stupid, insulting to the fans, really.

"Would Jerry Jones do that? "

Jerry Jones can fire the coach in mid-season and still get the Cowboys to beat the Giants in NJ.

The Giants are in 1st place in the NL East — a “run for the division” is already assured. As for the game, Dallas won on big plays and big turnovers by the G-Men. It happens.

"Dallas won on big plays and big turnovers by the G-Men"

You've got to admit that the Dallas defense played great, especially considering how banged-up they are in the secondary and how great NY's offense has looked this season, and especially last week.

It's curious that the defense plays better when the new HC is an offensive guy. Maybe there were too many cooks in the kitchen before.

Aren’t the Redskins the team that has been sueing season ticketowners that lost their jobs and attempted to cancel their season tickets?

1st downs: Giants 24, Dallas 14

Time of possession: Giants 38 min., Dallas 22 min.

Total yards: Giants 480, Dallas 427.

And this is with the Giants missing two offensive linemen due to injury this week.

So no, I wouldn’t say the Dallas defense played “great.” This game was about turnovers at the worst possible time some very big plays. ...especially by Dez Bryant (an amazing talent).

Wow is right. I don’t think I would have kept him around, not that long anyhow. Maybe a two year deal.

Let me rephrase - Dallas "played great" relative to how they were playing in the first 8 games of the season, against the run in particular. Back in October, the Giants dropped 41 on them. They cut that in half, despite the pretty good play of Eli.

Considering Dallas had a makeshift secondary, they did pretty well.

One thing is certain — Dallas played with a lot more emotion this week. ...most likely the result of the coaching change.

I attribute it more to The Hawthorne Effect, which tends to be short-lived.
