Singer Sheryl Crow has become the latest celebrity to get caught in the real estate crash. She can’t sell her sprawling Nashville mansion, so she has gone to the extreme — putting it up for auction at a bargain basement price.
Like so many stars who made it big, Crow splurged on huge house with top of the line features. But since the real estate market crash, they have become white elephants.
Now Crow’s house is bargain priced. The bidding has topped out at $1.1 million with the online auction set to end Nov. 24.
(that was so subtle, one almost missed it)

She is trying to lower her carbon footprint and can't buy credits from Gore anymore.

This whole toilet paper thing was so stupid, I couldn’t stop crying. I can’t believe the enviros are so hypocritically stupid. If she’s so darn worried about the environment, why in the world would one person need the sized home she bought? You’d think she’d have bought a smallish house with lots of land, where the deer and the cantaloupe play...lol(that’s what my daughter says)
High expenses. Plummeting income and popularity. And she’s not aging gracefully.

She had cancer and it could be that the expenses of that burned through her savings.
Plus she hasn’t had a HIT song for a while, so her income can’t be what it was.
In the past she could have bought her house for cash several times over, so she must have borrowed big against it and now it’s probably gone.
That’s my guess anyway.
Some things just go together... Like a horse and carriage...

1.1 mil. There is a McMansion down the street that is boarded up. It was very nicely built and professionally boarded up. It is situated under high tension power lines in a solidly blue-collar neighboorhood. The last price asked for this house was 1.1mil. How torrid it all got before it crashed...
