Noy quite, bro. do some reading....The 25mm grenades are fired semi auto from a detachable magazine, and the 5.56 rifle above it is fired with the same triger. The sight has an integral rangefinder which lases then moves the crosshairs to adjust for bullet drop fro the weapon chosen. Very fresking cool. the grnades also have several features, including “detonate on second impact” or “airburst at measured range plus 1 meter”, for firing thorugh a glass window, and at enemy in defilade of some type respectively.

12 lbs!? That's more than an M-14!

Didn't the Thompson Sub weigh 13 lbs. without the ammo? I think so. The GIs carried it in WWII and Korea.

I was involved with it's big brother about 6 years ago, but GDATP (A General Dynamics company) couldn't get the ammo to perform to spec at that time. So it was canceled.

Looks like they finally got it right. Good for them and the U.S.

The XM-307 could burn thru a box of 20 rounds in short order at great cost. The M2 can fulfill the same mission on the cheap, with much greater range.

To be issued to the TSA, EPA, and DHS immediately.

All branches of the military to receive brochures on increased costs of their medical coverage.

The weapon looks different but the concept sounds the same. From what I remember it works by counting rotations to the target.

Yeah, but its going to be tough buying reloading dies, etc. for this beast. And at 12 pounds, it better be a crew served weapon.

wonder how effective during moonson season...the space between the eyes and the..sight..heavy rain could obscure sighting a target??

I’d give that weapon kudos if it could spray a volley of wet MaxiPads at an advancing line of 7th century boy-buggering Muslim infantry.

Well, uh.... All guns carry ammo and deliver a single bullet, hopefully on target.

Most soldiers can’t range more 500 meters when engaging an enemy. This thing allows the user to LAZE a target up to 2,300 feet, nearly 1/3rd of a mile. Cool!

Additionally, the “bullets” are frangible explosives and can be programmed to explode behind a target and many demonstrations show the explosion taking out 3-5 enemy combatants with a one shot.

How? They laze the target, program the “bullet” or what should really be called the “warhead”, to explode 2-5 feet inside the room and then “BOOM!”.

The XM25 operates a mini programmable cannon that is more accurate, operates at greater distances and can take out more enemies with one round.

How much is your life worth? LOL

Whatever the cost of the ammo it’ll be considered priceless.

How long before the liberal Democrats complain that this weapon is killing women and infants who are inside the buildings and behind the walls?

You will carry less ammo so it will offset the increased weight.

But can you imagine rolling up on your enemy from 2,000 feet away, get out of your Humvee, Laze your target, fire 1-3 rounds and the fight is over before the enemy knew it started.

Then you saunter back to your vehicle and go home for lunch.

Hey I agree but remember the complaints about weight and uncontrollable FA. Weight sure would have been an issue with me and I hated the Matel toy in basic. Thank god I never had to rely on it.

A muslim teleprompter does not want AMERICAN boys killing other muslims. He wants American boys dying to amuse his saudi king.

This thing could may be like SAW for one guy in the squad. Maybe it becomes lethal in 2013.

Just my thought - yet ANOTHER one-use, special purpose, needs special ammo POS that adds 12 lbs tpo some poor gunts 100+ pound now.

Bad idea then, still a bad idea today.

LOL! It looks like this weapon would be highly effective against travellers refusing to be groped or Tea Party members.

My guess is the “New” Black Panther Party will be issued them too plus the IRS for those tricky tax return audits.
