Are there enough Christians left that put God over everything else? Will they pray hard enough to garner favor from God for America's future? Is that even a good idea? Maybe its always been about choices and a chosen few. Moses came off of the mount in time to see people worshiping a golden calf. Yet in the end, the true believers made it to the promised land.

I have often wondered this myself. I have no doubt that God CAN save America. I just wonder WHY God would want to.

You have a point there. I always thought that the good times are the most important to remember God and in times of hardship, he’ll look out for you. But since America shoved Him out during the good times, He may well leave us to flounder.

America has been suffering deterioration and dilution for some time.... and needs to change and mend its ways. First step? Get the muslim out of the White House. I cant see him helping America any farther as long as a Musilim is there.

I have been with Christians in the former Soviet Union.
They were sober, vigilant, tested, deeply rooted.
They made me ashamed of my superficiality. I went with a group. We entertwined American patriotism with Christianity. I can’t describe the self-revulsion I felt for myself in thinking I had anything to offer Christians who know the reality of severe persecution.
I would not pray for persecution. That would be very foolish. But it’s not about saving America. It’s about what God will do in the hearts of individuals in these times.
I am not saying I live up to this, but the following hymn is very precious to me, and I do pray that God would impress the reality of it in my life with same understanding as the person who wrote the hymn. You might say, “No testing, no glory.”

Do you think God will be just? He is justice, but He always saves a remnant of believers. When Israel was invaded, the “blessed” were not killed but became slaves and eventually (70 years later) were allowed to return to Israel. Where were they? In Babylon.

God is just. He can do nothing less. We can only get on our faces and repent of ALL the evil we have legalized.

2 Chronicles 7:14 is God's promise with a condition:

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and change their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive them and heal their land.

Americans have to change their ways.

We pray, but there comes a time when Christians must shine the light of truth on darkness and change what is unpleasing to God.

People who write articles like this have a very narrow view of the world. That view seems to include only the U.S. and, sometimes, Canada. Can anyone seriously say that America has turned its back on God more than France, Sweden, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Iceland, South Korea, Myanmar, Australia, Denmark, Japan, etc. etc.? It's not even close. Those countries, and many, many others, have fallen so far from God that they don't even have a reference point from which to ask, "Can God save us?" The question wouldn't occur to them.
