You can have both. My Sony laptop died a couple days ago, so I just switched to a Mac Airbook. I used VMWare Fusion to migrate the Windows partition to a VM, and now I have all my Windows apps on my Mac.

It’s an absolutely superb machine.

A year ago switched to an iMac 27 in my upstairs home office from a 8 year old windows machine. Added a new wireless HP all-in-one. Most of my ugly wires have disappeared (wireless mouse & keyboard), no more crashes, no more virus protection software.
Added a base wi-fi only iPad which I use downstairs and you have a simple, easy to use, yet powerful home computer network.
