This is very, cool.

This guy either has a pair the size of bowling balls, or a brain the size of a pea.

Use This Link to see the original video, without a trip to the blog.

Just saw the whole video and I vote for option #1.

In 1990 another kayaker tried going over Niagara Falls. His body was never recovered.

I remember reading of daredevils doing that in barrels back in the 1920’s. If I not mistaking, only one ever survived and that’s why they outlawed it.

Isn’t this just a modern version of going over Niagra falls in a barrel?

I think you would be safer in a barrel.

There’s a much greater volume of water, and a lot of turbulence at the base of Niagara Falls. I have visited Palouse Falls, and photographed it, several times. I don’t know how deep the plunge pool is, but I doubt there are any boulders in it. Not that I would undertake such a stunt, being basically a non-swimmer, but for a daredevil so inclined, this seems a suitable site for it.

At the site there is an interview of the guy and he basically says the same thing as you. He would not have done it if the water was hot projecting so far out from the mountain.

He noticed a finger of clear water in the fall and realized that if he caught that he could be fine. He tried and succeeded in catching that finger of water and made it with a bruised wrist and a broken paddle, Cool, still crazy, but cool.

Video Ping!

Tom Hawks posted a video from my site. It is a video of a kayaker going off a 186 foot waterfall in Washington State. It is quite a daring feat that left him with only a sprained wrist, a few bruises, and a broken paddle. I also have another video of Tyler Bradt being interviewed about the feat. The video itself is quite awe inspiring........
