Register Cleaner for Windows Vista x64

Posted on 12/08/2010 5:22:36 PM PST by Don_Ret_USAF

I dumped AVG free after it locked my computer. I went with Microsoft Security Essential for protection What is an excellent Register checker software to use. Too get rid of the left over pieces from AVG and Nortan Anti-Virus installations. I Am using Vista x64 home premiun for my operating system. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I also use Eraser for anti-forensics. Setup the scheduler to run and wipe the free space.

Another note. Uninstall any programs you want to remove. Reboot and THEN run a cleaner. We find this works best on the 30 or so machines we have. Also look for silly little things that have crept in like additional toolbars etc. In addition we run Adaware and Spybot once a week and catch a bunch of garbage. Delete those things and then reboot and run CCleaner or the registry cleaner of your choice. Of course ALL of the precautions when opening the registry are relevant.

Be very careful. Stuff on this page is for people who do not have “accidents”.
