A local talker regularly goes on about “Who are they writing these stories for?” Not just about weather. Newspapers write the most pathetic “advice” stories. You really have to wonder what kind of morons do they think we are?

You must get similar stories out there?

Well, yeah, times 50. I moved to the south a few years back. All someone needs to do is say "Snow" and everyone down here panics. Runs to the store and buys out all of the milk, bread, beer and cigarettes. Schools close for weeks at a time, "Winter Storm Alerts" blare on the TV and Radio. It's pretty chaotic.

Meanwhile, I'm usually the only one who shows up at work. :-) I love the peace and quiet.

True story.... We were having a blizzard that was fairly respectable - 6-8". I *had* to get to the store, for something that escapes me now. There was a guy in the parking lot of the store, he had bought out all of the bread and was scalping it at $5 a loaf. Had plenty of takers, too.

Dunno why, everything usually melts within a day or two.....which is why I live down here, and no longer up there. :-)
