Bodies Found on Long Island Beach

BABYLON, N.Y.—Four bodies have been discovered at a beach on Long Island during a search for a missing New Jersey woman.

Suffolk County police say three bodies were found Monday at Oak Beach, which is on a remote barrier island that divides the Great South Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

The bodies were near where skeletal remains were discovered over the weekend.

Police were continuing to search into Monday evening.

A police canine unit searching the area Saturday came upon the first body. The unit was searching the area in response to a missing-person report made in May after Jersey City, N.J., resident Shonnan Gilbert vanished.

Oak Beach is one of a series of beaches run by towns and municipalities. The bodies found there haven't been identified.

Thanks july4th, I just find that astounding... Biblical commentators disagree about “Babylon” in Revelation all the time, whether it’s literal or figurative. I’ve always thought America fits the description, so for “Babylon” to be a town in what looks like the center of New York? That’s kind of mind blowing.

These are the parts that sounded like us a few years ago. We’re not so economically sound now though:

“The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, 10 standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’
11 “And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: 12 merchandise of gold and silver...

The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, 16 and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! 17 For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.’ Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance 18 and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like this great city?’
19 “They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.’

The girl from Jersey was meeting a Craigslist client on or near Fire Island. That’s how she ended up on Long Island.

You might find this interesting (not my kind of thing, but, amusing, if nothing else)

Statue of Liberty - Who Is She?

Ties in with Babylon, NY, The World Trade Center, quite a stretch.

You sure have allot of ping lists.

Did you hear Snooki is going to be dropped in a ball in Times Square New Years eve.

Regis commented that is going to have to be a Big Ball to hold a Shookie. LOL

Any female going to meet someone for any reason alone from Craigslist is looking for Mr. Goodbar IMO.

There can’t be any good deal on any thing IMO in the world to risk ones chance of meeting up with a no good killer.

OK, sorry, I was too dense to pick that up.

Obviously, I’m not big on that trade, but I despise those sickos who think that because someone is a prostitute, she is dispensable at his will.

“Babylon, New York”????

are you kidding me?

On the south shore of western Suffolk, LI. IIRC Rodney Dangerfield grew up there. It’s train station is a hub for the LIRR’s eastern lines connection to the city. Pricy homes south of Main St. Nice downtown.

Thanks buccaneer. I’m still amazed anyone would name their town Babylon, especially near the heart of New York, Wall Street...that is mind boggling.

That had to be an “in-your-face” gesture towards God. They had to have known. My gosh if anything happens in New York, merchants from the ocean would probably have to look over “Babylon” to see the smoke.

Incredible.

I wonder if this is at all relatyed to the FBI suspect Ron Erwin. Erwin is being investigated with regard to the murders of many prostitutes from Albuquerque.

Erwin became a suspect in August. Police raided his home and businesses and found a huge cache of women’s photographs, many looking druuged or dead.

Erwin is a “photographer” and it is thought he used this ruse to lure women to remote destinations. He is on several photo blogs, and has tgraveled, with his cameras, to farflung places in India, Pakistan, Thailand, etc.
