Here's the way I size it up.
California was on pace to be on the borderline on July 1, 2009 and I can't imagine the last 9 months they grew enough to maintain that.
Texas could gain 4, Arizona and Florida 2, Georgia, Utah, Nevada, South Carolina, and Washington gain 1 seat.
Ohio loses 2, New York might lose 2, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Louisiana, and California lose 1. Missouri and Rhode Island could lose 1.
They’re announcing it today? Oooooo baby!!!
JMHO Washington State gaining a seat will just help them steal more elections.
As for the rest good riddance to bad rubbish.
bfl
Texas Republicans reached their super majority of 100 seats in the upcoming legislature after the Nov. election when two Democrats switched parties...one a Hispanic from South Texas and another a “blue dog” Democrat from East Texas.
Give us four more Congressmen and we promise we’ll do much better than CA did with their pathetic congressional delegation over the past 20 years.
I think any state that goes insolvent should lose all representation until it once again becomes viable.
Looks like Texas just picked up 4 seats.
It would be interesting to see how the results would be different if representation was based on number of citizens rather than on population. States with higher numbers of legal and illegal immigrants would lose representation.
California loses 1, Mexico gains 3 :\
California should lose 10 seats, for chasing so many wealth producers and wage earners out of the state.
“I think any state that goes insolvent should lose all representation until it once again becomes viable.”
Good luck getting that Amendment passed!
Maybe illegal immigrants could count as 3/5ths of a person.
The larger issue, I believe, is the method that was used to count people. As I understand it, the democrats resorted to a new, statistical model, that over counts those that are transients. As I recall, there was some talk about the white house taking control of the census, as opposed to congress. I am not sure what the outcome was of that power grab, but the democrats have shown themselves to lie, cheat, and steal with little or no consequences. Its just difficult to believe that they can be so overt, with the lame duck congress passing such momentous legislation.....where is the outrage? Why are they not made to pay such a stiff price that they will never attempt such feats of legislative malpractice. They clearly don’t have the consent of the governed, but these kinds of outright theft of power should cause them to be investigated and locked up.
That worked so well the last time we tried it.
However, because the population shift was so much they could not complete deny it without being caught. For instance, California has a mass exodus going on and they did not lose any seats? Ditto New York. However, California did not lose any seats? Why else did it take them so long to come out with this? I seem to recall in 2000 we knew by July 1st. Just saying...
Now States like Georgia is only getting 1 more congressman and not two? Ditto North Carolina and Utah?
Something smells fishy. I can't prove it, but with the Democrats were doing this.
Actually, it is good news that WA is gaining a seat. More than likely this seat will not go to a democrat.
While Seattle & Olympia are very liberal, the rest of the state tends to lean Republican.
King County will still continue to steal elections no matter what.
