What a f@#)_$@g joke!

I was curious to see how the Times might work in La Stupenda (who probably got a full page obit with a front page lead - I don't look at the Times anymore so I don't really know what they did.) with an assortment of folks who mostly had 15 minutes of undeserved fame.

What did they do? They ignored her.

Oh geez! An unfortunate choice they made to start out with an ad featuring The Queen of Soul, who was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last week. My first reaction was OMG! Did she just pass away? before realizing it was one of those annoying ads that are everywhere now.

I’m floored. I knew about Malcolm McClaren and Feiger...but Captain Beefheart, Alex Chilton and Garry Shider are gone too?!?

Damn...we lost some good ones this time...

Why don't you try Google. By the time you get to the U, it will be their first choice.

And the year is not over yet. Who’s next? Paul McCartney, Barry Manilow, Bobby Goldsboro, Robert Goulet, Helen Reddy, Pat Benatar, Phil Spector, Bobby Vinton, Gene Pitney, Little Peggy March, the Ventures, CSN&Y, Len Barry, Bobby Rydell, Dee Dee Sharpe? Oh, nose!

why can’t you just tell me instead of being obnoxious?

OK, I googled. I know very little about classical music so I didn’t know her nickname, but I did remember she had died. I expected to see her and was surprised when she wasn’t included. So I simply presume there was some separate tribute to classical musicians.
