Because when it comes to breaking news first, FR is just that good.

algore did not get to inventing that part yet. It is a work in progress but he is working harder than ever to fix it.

There is nothing wrong with your computer. Do not attempt to adjust the monitor. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We can roll the image, make it flutter. We can change the focus to a soft blur or sharpen it to crystal clarity. For the next hour sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear. We repeat: there is nothing wrong with your computer. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to... The Freerepublic.

Doc Brown might say it is a disruption in the space-time continuum. He might need to get the Delorean and go back to the future in order to fix it.

The clock is set ahead to keep Freepers on time for off line appointments/schedules.
Ever seen the face of a Freeper child left sitting on the school steps all alone waiting for Freeper Mom to show up?

Just a correction on my part. He will have to go back to the past to fix it because if he goes to the future it is the alternate future.

I already told you yestermorrow.
Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Who is that? You are correct!!!

This all started last summer when FR went south, fast-function wise; I've noticed the clock move from 5 minutes in the future to it's current 15.
Supposedly this is a symptom of some tech/server problem which is apparently yet to be resolved.
Once I notice the time is right and when FR loads right up, I guess we'll know all's well again.
