As long as it's .308, it's serious. Otherwise, it's just fun.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

While I do have two AR platforms one being a post ban with carry handle and the other a preban flat top with a red dot scope they are basically as simple as can be.

My M1A is slightly tuned up, I picked up a fiberglass GI M14 stock, filled in the select fire notch, embedded some pieces of carbon fiber hunting arrows inside the for end so it would be more rigid at the front clamp with JB Steelweld and made sure the op rod cleared them, I painted the stock in black “wrinkle” paint applied with a hot air gun.

And the areas where there is the checkering I used a paint called stone spatter paint in dark grey, makes for a gritty tough texture. All the metal parts on the buttstock like the plate and door was painted with ceramic black header paint and baked.

Other than a modified First Generation SA aluminum mount that I made reliable and a 2.5x10x50 Leupold NM tactical scope its pretty much stock. I did add a laceup high rise cheek pad. I would really love to have the JAE stock, I hear Promag will have one that looks just like it but its made out of polymers and carbon fiber, for around $300.

This is my serious shooting iron, if I were to do anything else for the AR platforms I would go with the .450 or 6.5 conversion. I just simply do not trust the .223 unless its one of my exotic reloads like with a Barnes Triple shock or Varmint grenade. I do have some 75gr. loads for “if and when”.
