Is it unusual for a Marine to retire a SSGT (E-6) after 20 years of service? I know it would be in the army.

Not usuak anymore—if a SNCO isn’t promoted wuthin a certain time period he is not allowed to ship over (reenlist).

Gotta be competitive—up or out I believe they call it.

B4 WWII it was common for privates even to retire with 20 or ecven 30 years service—corporals and buck sergeants even more common.

Not yer grand daddy’s America anymore—more like 0’pinhead’s we the folks now.
