I worry about the political repercussions of these media attacks.

Posted on 01/09/2011 4:15:09 PM PST by Jaguarmike

It's a terrible thing to admit, so close after the shootings. But the Left hates to let a crisis go to waste. Even this loony Tuscon sheriff seems to put more blame on free speech than the shooter. His demougogic (sp)display on the Fox interview was appalling. ("When people try to stand in the way of those who want to make this a better country...") WTF?

The Left is going all out to blame the Tea Party for this. I truly pray the American people will seem for what they are - ghouls who try to score political points while the corpses are still warm. But I don't know.

What do you think?

This guy had nothing to do with the Tea Party. Conservatives are not scapegoats. Stand up for your rights.

Going to, hell. They were reading the anti tea party script before the first shell casing hit the ground.

This whole fiasco is just the “media’s” way of paying America back for throwing their bums out in November. Last time they did this, we got the Murrah building. This time, we get the Giffords shooting. It’s the “media’s” way of telling Americans that they are a bunch of morons for throwing out the commies. We’re all stupid.

I think 68% of the American people can’t find Hawaii on a map. What do you think?

How is it that within hours of the shootings, the MSM on various channels were all going with the narrative that talk radio, incendiary cable news chatter, etc. somehow planted the seed of violence to a Democrat congresswoman in this deranged man’s head?????

I know that talking points get distributed in the MSM, but, I wonder, who exactly came up with the idea to blame talk radio?

I will be all ears to hear what Rush, Hannity, et. al. have to say tomorrow about this. After being roasted in the cable news universe for two days, it will be interesting to hear what they have to say.

The GOP in congress isn't doing our cause any favors by changing their agenda. Its a tacit admission that the rhetoric is to blame.

It WASn'T free speech, it was the action of a single lunatic. When the left politicizes events, our side needs to point it out, not bare our throats.

If the shooter had been a rightwing tea partier...

the victims would have been journalists.

“but they still get to vote.”

Yep, that’s the answer.

Agreed, conservatives and those who believe in the compact theory can’t run away and hide as the those who believe in ever expanding government look to blame the Tea Party for the shooting. Progressive’s have always hated the Constitution and individualism and won’t be satisfied until the people are nothing more than worker bees for the State.

The media attacks should not go unanswered. Boycott all. I am so angry right now that I am actually cancelling my cable service. Not watching. Hit them in the pocketbook. Bankrupt the networks. Don’t watch the superbowl. Turn off cable news. Boycott their sponsors. We need to fight the media more than the democrats for it is the media who doing their dirty work

What I think is this story will fade in prominence as the year goes on and other hot stories take its place in the national consciousness. The rhetoric will change nothing.

Shepard Smith just interviewed a woman who helped stop this nutcase from reloading the gun, and she spouts off about the Republicans being to blame for this because of their rhetoric. Smith did not respond to her accusation, but yesterday he was pushing that idea.

A “quite liberal” schizophrenic leftist kook who hates the Bible and likes the Communist Manifesto shoots a Democratic congresswoman and over a dozen White people at a townhall meeting ...

Sarah Palin’s fault! White supremacy! American Renaissance! Talk radio! The Tea Party!

It has been an instructive news cycle. The mainstream media hates conservatives and will do anything to lie and misrepresent the facts and take advantage of the situation to gain political advantage.

Remember the DC sniper shootings? Had to be a White guy!

Remember the Fort Hood shootings? Racism and intolerance drove him over the edge?

Virginia Tech? Guns are the problem.

Hurricane Katrina? Bush’s fault.

Never let a crisis go to waste. Disgusting.
