The most likely explanation is that the birds were killed in-flight by changes in the composition of the air they were breathing. And as it turns out, Noctilucent clouds are largely made of a poisonous gas known as Hydrogen Cyanide.

This wouldn't have 'impacted the trees and plants at ground level', like they mentioned for the other scenarios?

I agree this is a question that needs answering. A poison wouldn’t be discriminatory - it wouldn’t kill just blackbirds or just one type of fish.

I found this very interesting video about the pole shift. I am not saying this is the explanation - just that I found it.

lol....

lol.... Not close. Noctilucent clouds are made of water ice crystals and are found at altitudes of 76-85 km.

It would be interesting to see birds flying at that altitude....

Gotta keep an eye on this silly author. If he ever starts talking about BCE and ADE....

...poisonous gas known as Hydrogen Cyanide.

Shortly before Halley's Comet made its 1910 appearance,
astronomersdetected Hydrogen Cyanide in the tail of another
comet, and coincidentally, determined that the Earth was going
to pass through Halley's tail, setting off some hysteria.

So, has the Earth passed through the tails of any active comets recently?
