Suspicious Truck Reported Under Tunnel Near Van Nuys Airport

An “out of place” flatbed truck left under a tunnel near Van Nuys Airport raised enough concern for the Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad to deploy investigators Thursday evening.

In addition, police said the suspicious truck also had three containers.

Police noticed the flatbed truck just after 6 p.m. parked under a tunnel on Sherman Way at Hayvenhurst Avenue, said Officer Sara Faden of the Los Angeles Police Department.

“It was an unintended truck parked under a tunnel…and runways from the Van Nuys airport run over that tunnel,” Faden said. “The truck just looked out of place, so we have units at the scene and a bomb squad was sent to investigate.”

Like most of us humans with unrealized ambitions, the truck obviously had dreams of really being a sports car, or maybe even an airplane when it grew up. But there it is, stuck unintentionally being a plain old flatbed. It probably hatched this plan to bring excitement to its poor, boring existence.

In all seriousness, I hope it turns out to be nothing, with this unattended truck.
