Don't come to NC. We have terrible public schools, an increasing number of NE liberals moving here to escape high taxes in the north so they are bringing their liberalness with them. We do have good medical centers UNC, Duke etc. but an increasingly high tax burden.

One optimistic bit of news in NC is that our new Republican legislature just took office last week, the first R government in 113 years. Hopefully we can get rid of our dimbulb D Governor in 2 years. We are a right to work state but have the usual bloated Government employee union workforce.

Interesting that the smaller towns in western NC seem to have higher than national average violent crime.
