"the Catholic Church"

Yes, the demonstartion of a "miracle" of blue energy was infantile.

Every Bible literate person knows that demons have the ability to do extraordinary things. It's a skinny plot device to have a Cardinal at the Vatican be wowed by such simple theatrics.

Furthermore, to imply that Christianity is based soley upon miracles is denigrating to Christians.

But, afterall, its a TV show, so we'll see where it goes.

Yeah, I agree. Not a single Priest in that room wouldn’t have said “Faith is not based on miracles”, not a single Cardinal would have told Anna that the magicians of Pharoah produced miracles to counter Moses?

Written by people who have passing knowledge at most of Christianity.

The piece with the blue miracle, I took a slightly different spin on: I thought of it more as the priests being wowed by how the blue ligtning resembled a miracle, and how the rest of the "ordinary" populace would certainly be taken in by it.

Therefore, the Vatican caved, and went along with her ploy-- which, to me, would be even more disturbing than priests simply being wowed.
