John 3:16 Super Bowl Ad Rejected
Atlantic Media ^ | February 03, 2011 | Erik Hayden

The ad, which was produced by the Fixed Point Foundation, showcases a group of guys who wouldn't be out of place in a beer commercial gathered around a big screen yelling at the TV during a football game.

After a close-up of John 3:16 is flashed onscreen, they wonder what the verse means and use a smart phone to look it up. That's it. Gibson explains that Fox likely blocked the ad to avoid "the wrong kind of controversy," but hedges by noting "it's hard to see how a commercial whose only religious reference is a brief shot of a player's eye black and 'John 3:16' could offend an audience of sports fans

Showing that fat sl*t Kim Kardashian or creepy skank Jillian Michael as nude is not an issue.

I wish you were kidding me, but I know you're not.

Just appalling.

BO and the press are trying extra hard to make us believe that BO and Mooch are Christians. The press was so offended that Bush clearly was a Christian without having to tell everyone. FOX should take it’s cue from BO. He’s a strong Christian now-ha.

Would be good exposure of a good message, but in the wrong context... alongside nudity, beer-guzzling and centralized shallowness of American culture...

The Bible is clear about “not casting to your pearls to swine...”

Clearly not surprising.

“Would be good exposure of a good message, but in the wrong context... “

...I disagree. This would be the perfect place for such a commercial. No different than a pastor on a soap box in Vegas trying to get through to a few. IMHO

And it’s Ok for Budweiser to show their ad about an oil changing crew stealing beer or some guy bungie jumping stealing beer. Oh, I get it. Humor. So I guess it’d be Ok to steal beer from their trucks then, seeings how -

Yes he did. Got charged with kidnapping and was offered a 12 year plea deal but wanted to spread his message in the courtroom and caused several disruptions during the trial.

The Judge gave him two life sentences.

He was quite the NFL sideshow attraction on the upper level behind the goal posts whenever a field goal was kicked back in the early-mid 70’s.
