HISTORICAL NOTES:

1. It was discovered, during the eleven days of hell, that the virus was a strain of HIV that had mutated. It was airborne, hardy, easily transmitted and deadly. Passed from lung to lung it spread like the air and killed with exact efficiency.

2. During the final few days before the break out in Egypt many people traveled to Carson City and sat at slot machines in the Nugget, feeling that somehow they would be able to recognize Mother Abigail from the many old women playing there. And some did.

To her credit this very private and shy lady counseled and guided these pilgrims - even inviting some home for tea.

During one such visit by a software executive and her husband, from Boston, a conversation was taped where MA explained that what was about to happen was a rare event where one species, that was not geographically isolated, splintered into a different species - based simply on behavior. This rare event, she explained, is called Sympatric Speciation.

It was also during this conversation that she named the new species Homo Sapiens Serendipitous (the intuitive man or the man with the unexpected surprise).

In honor of her work, this name became the accepted taxonomy.

3. Somewhere in the first horrible days of the break out a message/tweet/posting circumnavigated the world in just a few hours. It was untitled and unsigned and read simply: "Our relationship has been centered upon the principle of absolute freedom of choice. You have made your choices and now I will make mine."

4. Kate and I live in our separate cabins. We do not entertain, however in the high heat of summer you can find us camped on the shore of Pyramid Lake, you are more than welcome to come visit and bring all your nice friends.
