Using chambers cut off 12 ga. scrap barrels and a new $10 bbl for an Italian auto shotgun, the only other gun part is a scrapped hammer from a 1857 Remington perc revolver:
Loads like a SAA Colt but underlever rotates and cocks it. Blow-by is negligible, hardly noticeable with normal shirt sleeve.
Opened for some still shots, at top of the inside pix screwed in is the firing pin, impact type with return spring. The ratchet or star with the hand is visible below on the left side, also the pawl that cocks the hammer. The cylinder indexing lock is external, operated by the under lever. At very bottom the small knob releases the cylinder to turn clockwise for loading.
Due to limited equipment I was unable to copy existing mechanisms so it is pretty much designed from scratch, largely by cut and try, trial and error, etc.
Or a cool prop from "Wild, Wild West".

As of the last I looked, a few months ago, you do not need any license to make a firearm for your own use. You can’t sell it, but you can make all you want!

This would most definately do. Although I’d prefer 10ga. 3-1/2” magnum... Absolutely perfect for when the boys come to see my daughters! ;)

Even if the operator is given authorization to disregard the violation of international law, the stand-off ranges required for mission survival offer little hope the objective will be achieved. There is also the broader issue of magnetron sputtering,
Although a cool little thing to have, it will be classified by the ATF as a “Destructive Device” As all previous revolver shotgun designs have been.

I myself had a close call with my daughter. She was going to stay with a friend overnight. I don't know why but I called to check up on her and the friend didn't know anything about the stay over. I knew right then what was going on. I live 15 miles out of town, but was in town in minutes looking for her. After about 30 minutes raging around town getting madder and madder, finally found some of her friends running around and asked them where she might be. They said sure she would be at so and so’s house. I asked where that was and they pointed out this house. I walked up to the door and knocked and I could hear movement inside but no answer and then it got quiet. I blew it, kicked in the door and in two steps crossed the living room and grabbed the guy standing at the hallway by his shirt and had him up on the wall explaining to him that I wanted to know where my daughter was. He explained to me that he knew nothing about my daughter. I told him the name of the guy where I thought she was. He tells me that, that guy lives three houses down and on the other side of the street. I could have killed those kids about then. I apologized and went out the door and pulling up was the sheriff (a lifetime friend)He took me to the sheriffs office and made me set there while he went and got my daughter. He was nice enough that he didn't charge me with anything, but I bought the guy a new door and frame and installed it. Yes the daughter did survive. She is 31 now and has given me three of the most wonderful grandchildren anyone could want, she is a nurse and a really good person. Too bad she nearly got me killed and gave me more gray hair than Santa clause. But we got through it. Be strong but be calm, advice from an older gentleman.

If the cylinder is off by a sufficient amount to create a problem the primer will not be lined up with the firing ping and it will only go “click”.
It’s not for the daughters, it’s for the boys, and I’m not exactly joking.
Frankly, if your friend fired through the passenger-side window, it sounds like he INTENDED to kill. Tires are easier to hit, and more likely to disable the vehicle without injuring people. Bullets go through things. It’s what they do. Best to put them through things that are replaceable.
My rational manner is to terrify the boys. As long as they stay terrified, they don’t have any problems.
