Interesting exchange in an interview with her new Boss.
Is Katie Couric out at CBS?
No one knows, but the new Chairman of CBS News said he doesn't know yet whether Katie Couric wants to stay at the network.
From 'Broadcasting & Cable...'
"What are your thoughts on keeping Katie Couric in the family? Do you think she wants to stay?"
"I don't know whether she does. It's a good question. It's high on the list of things to do to spend some time with Katie to find out what she wants to do and what she sees is best for her and what's best for CBS News. "
"But would you be interested in keeping her around if she wants to stay?"
"I just don't know that she does, so it's a little premature. I look forward to spending some time with her"
If they wanted her to stay they would’ve talked to her or given her a heads up before the announcement today.
Um... I don’t know.... liberal politics and all things considered... There is something alluring about this picture... And I don’t mean the elf or the drunk in the background either.

Her tenure has been a demi-disaster, and few care if she stays or goes.
When asked about a replacement, the usual answer tonight was: “Somebody.”

In addition, her daily feed was a great $-maker and an even better demographic lead-in for the local evening news block... so that earned her lots of slack as well.
Since she embraced O-bomber, and he has tanked, it has become very 0k to comment that the Empress Has No Clothes (that fit her.)
If she is smart... and Oprah is VERY smart... she will make a fast but graceful exit, and live off her billions of net worth $.... and about 10,000 calories per day.
BTW .... Prior to this, Oprah was comment-proof. To say anything negative about her was OBVIOUSLY racist. </satire>
