We had a little stray dog named Fannie Mae Farkleberry who stole anything (from neighbors) she could get her paws on, windshield wiper blades, dirty laundry from the neighbor’s garage floor beside their washer, newspapers in plastic wrappers, all sorts of treasures. Once husband and I were arguing and Fannie Mae picked up her bowl in her mouth and ran all the way back to the room where we were, then threw the bowl on the floor at our feet. The bowl was covering her eyes, and she had aimed herself down a long hallway. That stopped the argument and got her fed and us laughing. - The neighbor finally (we suspect) loaded her up and took her off one morning while we asleep.

I have a cat that will steal socks from the sock drawer and then arrange them in what I call "crop circles" on the living room floor. Once she has finished her work she'll proudly announce it by meowing.

She must be a Celtic Cat and reincarnated Druid trying to make Stonehenge. Next time, check the celestial orientation of the socks. ;-)

We had a Russian blue who would steal socks and keep them in and around his food bowl. He preferred Mr. Mercat’s dress socks. We gave up trying to retrieve them and left him with one or two which seemed to keep him content. He would chew them before he ate. Sadly, an owl had him for lunch, or I guess it would have been supper or breakfast.

See my post 25. Why socks? It was always socks. We also have a weiner dog who tries to sneak off with underwear from the laundry room. He also hoards raw hide chewies.

That is, indeed, a Corgi. She has a fluffy coat which requires a recessive gene in both parents.

All 3 of our cats are good at that. A warm freshly washed sock is so much better than a cold dead cat toy that’s been slobbered on by the other kitties. Ours brag about it too. When they carry a sock through the house they’re meowing loudly the whole time.
