Industry testifies on plan to cut Alaska oil taxes (Palin Smackdown)
SF Gate ^ | 2/17/11 | Becky Bohrer

Oil industry leaders delivered a stinging rebuke of the production tax that became a hallmark of Gov. Sarah Palin's administration, telling a legislative committee Wednesday that it has discouraged investment and made Alaska a less attractive place to do business.

Representatives of BP Alaska, ConocoPhillips, Exxon Mobil and Pioneer Natural Resources said the tax cut and expanded tax credits proposed by Palin's successor, Gov. Sean Parnell, is a positive step toward encouraging greater activity and boosting oil production.

While officials made no guarantees that the moves would lead to more investment or jobs for Alaskans, saying a number of factors influence their decisions, they made clear that Alaska runs the risk of being further overlooked in favor of other states or countries with more favorable tax regimes if the Legislature doesn't act.

Sounds like they're talking out their arses. What state are they going to go to to drill for oil anyway?

Well, Obama is promising to close the “tax loophole” on oil producers. Isn’t that nice.

If the oil companies were serious about getting around these "punative taxes" they would be dealing with the current Governor and legislature

Care to pull your foot out of your mouth, or is it tasty?

Louisiana Oil and Gas Association concerned about Obama’s taxes on energy producers

Once again you're trying to compare apples to oranges with your PDS bs.
If you haven't noticed yet *Mensa*, OBummer is trying to shut down the oil industry (my industry for 30 years) and Palin wants us to drill here, drill now and become energy independent of the *Ragheads*.

I read “Sarah takes on Big Oil” by two oil industry experts and it explain with graphs and charts how Sarah brought accountability to the Oil companies as far as dealings with the State of Alaska. The corruption and cronyism going on up there was amazing, it’s so sad that a hateful troll would be so ignorant just because of their hate sounds more like a leftist

How does that fit in with cap and trade she wanted? And reducing “our carbon footprint” she insists she wants to do.

You can find Palin sycophants all over the place. Hell, even here, where its normally understood to be one of the most conservative groups of online folks, people will pimp for LOST, Amnesty, oil tax hikes, Feminism, DADT repeal, etc, etc, as long as Palin says so.

You're changing the subject. Who can blame you? Even the Dems in AK aren't so dumb that they missed the blatant caveat the oil execs made.

But Rep. Scott Kawasaki, D-Fairbanks, said he heard no "convincing evidence" that companies would invest or explore more or hire more Alaskans.

I agree. The dems will fight it, like Precious. The conservatives will pass the tax cut, if they can. Just like conservatives do.

We're talking oil industry *Mensa*, drill here drill now which Palin supports 100%.
What do you think, in all your vast knowledge, will happen in the oil industry if Palin is elected president?
Be honest if you haven't forgotten how.

Giving something and getting nothing; is that a "conservative" negotiating tactic? LOL

I go by record, MENSA. She wanted Cap and Trade and to reduce our carbon footprint when gubner. I’m sure, like her mentor McCain, she’ll say anything now to try to get elected in a conservative primary. I imagine you won’t hear her complaining like she did in her book Going Rouge, about Katie Couric editing out her ‘lets reduce our carbon footprint’ gobblygook in their interview.

Is it not amazing how this redistribution of wealth, ie, socialism, is not viewed as such by some republicans.

Apparently property rights are no longer a conservative principle. Alaskans should have no say and no compensation when multi-national companies take value from their land. State’s rights is right out too.

No Ace, you go by twisted BS.
If Palin is elected president, the domestic oil industry will spin up to a higher level than in the 50's and 60's exploration and production wise.

Drill here, drill now will happen with Palin little urine dampened Formicidae.

Clown, the state of Alaska was bought, it belongs lock stock and barrel to the American tax payers. The johnny come lately that live there have no bigger claim than the rest of americans. And this welfare craps needs to stop. That excludes the native indians that have a seperate status.

Someone who we all admire deeply and respect greatly thoughtfully evaluated Sarah Palin and drew this conclusion:

Being as how I'm a God, Country, Family, small government, traditional American values, Life & Liberty patriotic kind of guy, Sarah Palin IS my cup of tea. My cup runneth over! I pray she runs.
