What you need to know about the Egypt upheaval

Hosni Mubarak reluctantly stepped down as President of Egypt last weekend. His departure, though welcomed throughout much of the Muslim world, nonetheless leaves the Middle East in flux. The more Western-oriented and secular Arab leaders are furious with the United States for pushing Mubarak out the door. To cover their bases, some have decided to actively cultivate their dormant relations with Iran! The Islamic states are bellowing victory and pushing for the installation of an Islamic theocracy in the traditional 'birthplace of civilization.'

For now, the Egyptian army is in control. The generals promise a timely return to civilian leadership and open elections. In reality, though, no one knows for certain which way Egypt will lurch as the new wears off and reality sets in. Egypt is without a strong leader for the first time in almost 60 years. That means that the entire Arab Middle East is without the stabilizing influence Hosni Mubarak provided for the last three decades.

President Obama insists that everything will be okay. He said that nothing less than "genuine democracy" has carried the day in Egypt. Of course, "genuine democracy" can be a dangerous thing. So dangerous, in fact, that when our founding fathers had the opportunity to choose "genuine democracy" as the new nation's form of government, they opted not to do so. "Genuine democracy" can also be translated as "mob rule." That's why our forbears chose to create a "constitutional republic" under the rule of law, not the whim of the majority. "Genuine democracy" was the form of government they most feared.

The vital point most of us in the West refuse to acknowledge is that it's extremely difficult for democracy to take root in an Islamic society. That's because Islam is not just a religion, it's a complete system of life. It deals with the religious, social, legal, political, economic, and military aspects of Muslim life. It is designed to control all facets of the believer's life. That's why Muslim minorities in Western countries feel compelled to agitate in their new cultures until those societies conform to the Koran. To further illustrate this, I'm going to replay a portion of a story I reported early last year that details what to expect as Muslim influence grows within a secular society.

This week, I'm also going to take a look at something that may be even more unnerving than the events we've been watching on television the past few weeks. That would be the complete failure of the US intelligence community to foresee these developments. In testimony before Congressional oversight committees during the turmoil in Egypt, James Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence and Leon Panetta, the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, came across as either completely uninformed or totally uncomprehending. As it turned out, though, they were both! But then, that makes them perfect for the current administration. That's not my opinion, that's the opinion of editorial sources as diverse as The Eurasia Review, The UK Telegraph, The London Times, and DEBKAfile.

Finally, as the US administration appears to be fumbling and stumbling through these crises, the European Union is beginning to see an opportunity. Recently, a group of 400 European lawmakers visited Israel to reaffirm Europe's cultural and democratic ties with the Jewish nation.

In the last few weeks alone, we've seen once strong secular Arab societies come ever closer to becoming Islamic theocracies; the European Union begin to position itself as an arbiter of peace in the Middle East; and the United States further squander its influence and leadership in the world. Folks, this is Bible prophecy springing to life from the front pages of our newspapers and the TV screens in our homes. Don't put it off any longer. It's time to get ready for the return of Jesus Christ for His church!

This is just a warm up. The real fun will start when he and his minions bait a race riot/class war. Wait until summer when he has gas prices sky high with his destabilization of the Middle East and cutting off oil drilling resources in the US. Food prices...

Then they will come out on the streets and do his “revolution” at Obama’s behest. He’ll blame “big oil” for high prices and the “corporate Republicans” for cutting the budget and big oil.
