Obama on his embattled budget: Let's talk, but....
L.A. Times.com ^ | February 15, 2011 | Andrew Malcolm

Posted on 02/20/2011 5:50:42 PM PST by Windflier

"Washington wonders why so many angry Americans talk back to the news on their TVs. Here's why: Federal spending the last two years has exploded. Never mind why. It has. Obama proposes cutting some of that increased spending. The result: Cuts to brag about but still more borrowed spending than before.

And for his next trick.....

One inconvenient stat cited by the sage Ed Morrissey: Obama's own debt commission proposed deficit reductions of $4 trillion (get used to that scary word) over the next decade. Obama's budget thinks $1.1 trillion is really good.

Here's the isolated president's perception of how painfully the feds need to address their fiscal canyon: "If you’re a family trying to cut back, you might skip going out to dinner, you might put off a vacation."

Delay a vacation? Where, to his planet? When millions of American families would settle for having a job in Obama's unstimulated economy? Or keeping their home while the Democrat lobs $53 billion more taxpayer money winning the future with unions to build high-speed trains for nobody to ride -- but to do so very rapidly?"

What I found most interesting about this article, are the comments that follow. They are scathing, and at a level of vitriol directed toward Obama that we've rarely seen outside of conservative forums.

If you want to get a look at what Americans are thinking of Chairman Obama at this moment, have a look. It will knock your socks off.

I’m shocked that ordinary citizens aren’t swept up in the fervor of the Baraqqi Boom / Recovery Summer #2.

Traitorous b@stards, those ordinary citizens........

Yeah, that’s the ticket. A family that has to borrow FORTY percent of what it spends each year needs to cut back on a few dinners out. POTUS’s incompetence has never been so visible for the entire world to see.

Only those (a) without a functioning brain cell, (b) who are fully blinded in their ignorance by nobama’s lies, (c) who are true-believer moonbat DIMs/LIBs and (d) human debris who are dependent on nobama’s stash can possible believe nobama wants anything other than to destroy Freedom and undermine America. nobama hates you, your children and the Constitution. nobama is the destroyer.

POTUS’s incompetence has never been so visible for the entire world to see.

Truth. This moron is everything and more, that we on the right accused him of being, during the election. We said then, that America would pay for its juvenile ignorance and euphoria, and it has come to pass in spades.

I've been saying for some time now that people need to quit using a magnifying glass to read the law, and step back a few paces to see that Obama is doing more to destroy this country than what mere law calls treason.

It's time for the American people to have our own Egyptian-style protest. We need to swarm DC, and stay there until the Usurper either leaves the WH under his own power, or is hauled off in handcuffs by the US Marshalls.

This country may not survive another two years of this monster.

That is the absolute truth. The man is steeped in Marxism, and sat in Rev Wright's pews, listening to his racist drivel for 20 years. How can anyone believe that he doesn't have every intention of destroying America?

As you said, only those without two functioning brain cells to rub together, or who are in the gimme class, believes otherwise.

RE the comments following the article in the LA Times blog ...

WOW WOW WOW

All FReepers, please take the minute to click on the link, scroll down to the comments, and start reading. I'm halfway through about 90 of them, and my jaw has dropped. This is the L.A. Times readership, if I'm not mistaken.

If there's one thing this new media has done for us, it's to evaporate the illusion the MSM and Hollywood entertainment culture has, like a Las Vegas magician, managed to foist on America for decades.

We're the majority.

Democrats have to cheat to win for a reason.

Sure thing Barack.

We’re here almost every day. Just drop by anytime. We’re just down the street. In the big White Building, you know, the one with the dome

RE the comments following the article in the LA Times blog ...WOW WOW WOW

That's why I posted this. Frankly, I only read a smidgeon of the article, but it was the commentary following that blew me away.

Out of a couple of hundred posts, I only saw one half-baked post that weakly supported Obama. The rest are eloquent, yet filled with rage at what Obama is doing to our country.

I couldn't believe that I was actually reading those posts in the L.A. Times. It's not the Times themselves saying those things, but they're allowing others to say them on their website. I'm sorry, but that's no accident. Something is definitely shifting here.

Another quick observation after perusing quickly all those comments at the Los Angeles Times Nation section.

I reeeeeeeeally think it's unlikely Obama will be the 2012 Dem nominee. His popularity is pure illusion. A house of rice-paper cards!

The Republicans need to ignore whatever idiot the Dems nominate, Obama or not. The goal isn't to nominate "somebody who can beat Obama." Obama is already beat. He's loathed. But more than that, he's loathed for thinking government is the answer.

If limited government conservatism is able to retake the Republican banner, independents will pile on high. We're the majority.

Wow! Those are great comments. Thanks to the heads up to read them. People actually see what is going on.

He’s going to be in big trouble when he and his pals tip off race riots this summer. He’ll put leftists out of power for a long, long time. I wish we could run them out of all our institutions at the same time.

McLame had best pay attention. As usual, he is riding the wrong horse backwards.

Skip going out to dinner? I never go out to eat and only eat one meal a day generally. Now, I didn't begin that practice due to economic conditions but I sure won't be changing it because my dollars go further these days.

I would like to hang onto that one meal a day even if it is getting more and more basic. That lobster sucking Marxist jackass can eat you-know-what!

Spot on, Finny. Nearly every post after that article contains some call for Obama to either be impeached, removed, or voted out of office. Most posters expressed a desire that it happen sooner, rather than later.

If Obama is the Democrats' nominee in 2012, they will be swept from the national stage in such numbers, that only broken fragments of that party will remain. Obama is causing so much damage to the country, and to the Democrat party, that it may take a decade or more for them to come back to any serious level of strength.

I hear a lot of talk around here about us needing to find a candidate who can beat Obama in 2012, but I think he'll be so weakened by that time, that any Republican will beat him in a landslide. Heck, he's already that weak.

Our real work is to find the best person to undo the six years of damage that Obama and the Democrats have caused.

Good one, Frank! That really captures the sheer irony of what Obama’s saying to the American public.

Great work, as usual.

It appears that he's not waiting for summer to crank up the violence. He and his OFA org and the SEIU are in up to their eyeballs in the Wisconsin unrest.

One Freeper said that he'd actually talked with a rent-a-thug who occasionally worked for SEIU as a "protester". He was told to "stand shoulder to shoulder with the rest of the "protesters" and scream at the opposition until they leave."

That's the Obama machine at work for you. Hope & Change, baby.
