Mrs. Lurkin asked me if we are going to put the flag up today. It used to go up on every Holiday. I became less consistent starting back in the 1990s though, and today, sadly, something seems wrong about the very thought of doing so.
This day, "Presidents" Day", does not stir any sentiment of patriotism -- it is a banal celebration of the Chief Executives of our rapidly failing Republic. I lived through the administrations of eleven of them. Most of them were scoundrels. Less than five of them of the Presidents who sat in the OVal Office during my lifetime were men whom I consider to have been worthy of repsect.
The sun is coursing higher into the morning sky -- should our flag fly?
I refuse to fly The Stars and Stripes while the America-hating muzzie usurper sits in the Oval Office.
My flag remains properly folded in its locker.
We fly the Texas flag...every day.
Would not flying the flag be a sign of surrender? I would fly the flag as protest if nothing else.
Next time mine sees light of day is on Memorial Day...then Flag Day, 4th of July and Veterans day, same next year and perhaps it comes out at noon on January 20, 2013, four years after it came down.
I fly the flag in memory of America’s former greatness.
You’re painting too bleak a picture. Fly it for the “Gipper!” It’s his birthday! Well, close enough!
Fly the flag inverted, sign of distress, because the nation is under distress.
I have the Gadsden flag and FUBO sticker on my ride, even here in L.A. When I head to West Hollywood, the fags ask me what FUBO means, and that makes me smile.
It’s interesting that you posted this, because I had this conversation with myself and decided not to fly my flag today as I have done in the past. Agree with all other comments
I hoisted mine on February 12th (Lincoln’s birthday), and will again tomorrow (Washington’s birthday), but I don’t want my neighbors to think that I have any respect for Øbongo.
I would fly the flag on the birthdays of individual presidents who truly represent America.
I raise Old Glory everyday out of respect for the men and women who died for this country. They gave their all so that I may raise my flag in honor of them.
Wow. So let Obama win. He would thank you for sure.
My flag remains properly folded in its locker.
I fly the Gadsden.
