Once again, something is better than nothing but....
If I get any of these: “pop-eye, fin or tail rot, skin ulcerations, columnaris disease, and gill disease”, I’ve got more problems that I thought.
Fish-Mox is for aquarium use, I doubt the QA/QC process is as stringent for gold fish as it is for humans.
Get some fish-mox and check the imprint on the tablet.
You’ll find it says, “West-Ward 938”
Google it.
Also, here’s a comment from a person on another forum having this very discussion:
“I have seen the post here and there about the “fishmox” and the other antibiotics that are for fish. I researched the manufactures website for the total list of ingredients. Indeed the active ingredients is the same medication as administered to humans. To check my findings, I consulted a clinical pharmacist here at work and asked him to take a look. He confirmed my results, “fish” and “human” medications are alike. He also told me that the “inert” ingredients are harmless to humans as well.”
