"I was referring to Chuck by his real name, because I wanted to address the man, not the bulls**t TV persona....So you're telling me, anytime someone calls me Carlos Estevez, I can claim they are anti-Latino?"
Carlos Estevez is Sheen's birth (and legal) name, just like Haim is Lorre's birth name.
Personally, I'm tired of everyone claiming victim-hood because of they were called a politically incorrect name.
As he SAID it, not wrote it, whose transliteration was more correct?
And if he wants to be called “Mohammad Ali” why you gotta call him “Cassius Clay”? But would it be anti-black and/or anti-Muslim to do so? Probably not, but still - it seems petty at best and racist at worst.
They hypocrisy of him calling out someone for a name change is especially amusing from “Carlos Esevez” / “Charlie Sheen”.
yup—Martin Sheen btw has an actor/producer brother who kept the family surname: Joe Estevez —and wikipedia says of him, “Unlike his brother, Martin Sheen, Joe Estevez is a political conservative.” And of course Emilio “Repo Man” Estevez
also kept the orig surname.
