It's the orange stained fingers that'll give you away! You'll have to wear disposable gloves to hide the evidence. :D;)

I have always maintained that Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies are nothing less than chocolate-covered, mint-flavored crack.

When I can’t get those, I like Tim’s Cascade Chips with cottage cheese...but only every once in a while. Too much of that and I’d look like Michael Moore.

My Father liked liverwurst and onion sandwiches.

We used to make something like that, but called it head sausage. I didn't care for it much when I was young, but later really took a liking to it. I cannot find anyone who still makes the stuff.

Incidentally, my brother likes to snack on dry oatmeal, and dry granola.

AND, at one point he drank too much carrot juice, ate too many carrots, and temporarily turned orange! True story.

fired = fried.

I suddenly got so hungry for my snack, I couldn’t’ concentrate on my spelling because I got so fired up thinking about it.

Sorry.

It should be no surprise then that Daddy also liked Hogs Head Cheese or Souse.

After Mother died, and Daddy was too old to drive, I had to do his grocery shopping for him. He would often have me get souse for him to snack on.

I remember when we butchered hogs, we would make 40 - 55 breakfast sausages from the trimmings from a 200 - 250 lb hog. The bones, and most organs went into the big kettle, simmered for hours and we made the head sausage late in the day.

How about a favorite of mine from Taiwan? I kid you not, it is called “Codfish Pastry with Seaweed.” It comes in three flavors. I prefer the wasabi flavor over the plain one, but BOY is it hot! Imagine a thin, faintly sweet cracker made from codfish, not flour, and topped with a piece of nori. It really is MUCH better than it sounds, and has no fishy smell or taste. You can get it in some Asian markets.

You can see how the manufacturer describes it at http://dahtien.com/products-1_en.html. A better pic of the package is at http://twitpic.com/34vxrs

My doc told me to use grapeseed....it has a high smokepoint and is healthier....do a search on canola oil....lots of controversy. Using a spice sounds good... may try that
