Question: Is there a "Tea Party" gathering scheduled in Washington, DC for 15 April this year?
I can’t make it. I’ll be watching “Atlas Shrugged”.
I know there is supposed to be a big event in St Louis Oct 5-6. I do not know about April 15th.
Maybe evil conservative knows?
You know, I hope that if one is put together that they have the sense to do it on the 16th, which is a Saturday. Being symbolic, it doesn’t really need to be ON the 15th. Travel, work schedules, childcare (and school) arrangements, cost of hotels (can be HALF the price on a Sat in DC), traffic, being able to bring the kids along as opposed to finding an overnight sitter. Lots of things should be considered better by organizers. Last years Sept. rally was pretty small because it was on a weekday. The specific date isn’t as important as the message and the movement.
If having it one day later will allow ten times as many people to attend - everyone wins.
Actually, I was at the April 15th rally in DC also last year, a weekday, and very small turnout. Everyone kept saying how they knew so many people that would have attended if it had been on the weekend instead.
The September rally WAS on the weekend (my bad), but was so close to Becks rally that it also got low turnout.
If having it one day later will allow ten times as many people to attend - everyone wins.
Excellent post, Ladysforest! Also, Glenn Beck having his 8/28/10 event last year so close to the 9/12/10 Tea Party in DC drastically cut down on the number of people who could attend both 8/28 and 9/12 events (like us).
Anyone know if there will be a Tea Party in DC on/around 4/15/11?
I think 4/15 is a holiday in DC, so tax returns aren't due till 4/18, that's what a C.P.A. told me anyway.
Yeah, Glenn’s event just killed last year’s DC march.
