As opposed to back in the days before injector/computers, when we would say things like that because the car won’t start or was hard to get started.
That comment reminded me of the last time the Gov't got involved like this. Back in the early 70's, the Federales forced seat sensors in all 1972-73 cars to make a buzzer go off if you didn't have your belt on. By the 74-75 models they had the interlock system were you couldn't even start the car without a seat belt. It is the only time I can remember in recent times that the Gov't back down becase so many people ripped them out at the dealerships when they took delivery.
My 1972 Vista Cruiser still has it hooked up and when I hit a bump, my breifcase will set off the loud buzzer just by sitting on the passenger seat.
