Am asking some advise on the MOSSBERG ‘SECURITY’ 12-GA. 8-SHOT SHORT BARREL PUMP SHOTGUN. I bought a Stoeger P350 a while back and now know that there is a problem with double feeds. Consequently I have no confidence in the gun if I should need it in an emergency.
Big 5 has these on sale for $289.99.....comments please??

Yeah, I’ve fired the 3 1/2” shells, they’re a pain for sure. I was just curious as to the specs of the Mossy and picked one up this morning.
I’m mostly interested in home defense for this weapon.

Mossbergs are tops for defensive shotguns. You are not going to find a better bang/buck deal in firearms than that shotgun. I believe the US military used them for a while.

Still, only a suggestion from the ATF.
Can the ATF just arbitrarily ban a specific weapon, or class of weapons from importation without legislation? If so, where is the line drawn when it comes to that authority? The Saiga 12 wouldn’t even qualify to be classified as an “assault weapon”, even if the 1994 ban were still in place. To have those shotguns in a configuration that would be consistent with ‘military style’ weapons, a good bit of work is required on the part of the end user. Machine work and a few hundred dollars worth of parts need to be purchased and installed/replaced to give it a true pistol grip and other features, for example. This is commonly known as a “Saiga conversion”.
Might have to get me a 2nd Saiga 12, just in case. I’m NOT liking the sound of this......

Yeah, Wally has some sweet deals but they don’t sell defense weapons, they almost wet their pants if you even mention it.
I needed the short barrel for the house, I’m so happy with it I could just....well you know!
Being a self confessed shotgun snob, I keep a Winchseter Model 12 in 16 gauge for the homestead. It holds 6+1 without a funky extension, the 12 pellet #1 Buck load is actually heavier than a 9 pellet 00 load in that it stacks in the shell better.
It also has no disconnector. Hold the trigger back and pump and you can send a bunch of lead downrange.
LOL...that’ll definitely work, must be hard to hold on to though.
3” in this model. 3 1/2” in the 800. I have one of each. The 500 is for home defense. The 800 in camo for waterfowl.
I’e heard great things about the Mossberg, too.
