Subway Brawl Over Spaghetti
My Fox NY ^ | 18 Mar 2011 | LUKE FUNK

Posted on 03/18/2011 5:23:19 AM PDT by Gamecock

A brawl broke out on a New York City subway car after one passenger apparently got upset over another passenger eating a big container of spaghetti on the crowded car.

The video was posted to YouTubeand first reported by nyctheblog. The user who uploaded it says that it involved a Brooklyn train. There is no indication of what line it happened and what day it took place.

In the video, which contains profanity, starts with some arguing. Then one woman says, "What kind of animals eat on the train?"

The woman eating the spaghetti responds, "What kind of fat ****** looks like you?"

The back-and forth continues until both women stand up and get in each other's faces. Then the spaghetti went flying and the two passengers start a physical confrontation. Other people on the broke up the fight but the back and forth continues until the video ends.

Something tells me, the way the man jump in to help the one woman, that the two young girls started this before the camera was rolling. Just a guess but the lone woman seemed to be answering to something the two younger ones had been saying when the camera started.

very beautiful. And we are too quick to judge. God bless you for sharing it, especially now during this time of contemplation and prayer

We don’t see the beginning of the fight....but why did the woman make a comment about the girl eating anyway? It’s not her business.

You were not wrong to have a negative opinion of the girl, that happens, wrong would have been to start a fight about it.

Can you imagine the amount of refuse after a day of New York denizens have been eating in it?

Not to mention the cockroaches, fruit flies, rats, and mice.

I used to ride the NYC subways. Can’t imagine trying to eat a meal on one with all that herky jerky motion going on. Ridiculous.

The victim made a rookie mistake. When dealing with gutter trash like the spaghetti skank you say don’t ask them if they want to end up in jail, you ask them if they want to end up BACK in jail. “I’ll call your parole officer right now.” is a useful follow up phrase.

Also, anyone who considers that subway car “crowded” has never been to NYC. They actually have recorded messages on NYC subways now, reminding passengers that a crowded train is not a valid legal defense against sexual abuse charges. Seriously.

I live about 50 miles from the city, go in 3-4 times a year, concur with your assessment on the Subway. Someone could put an eye out.

This is actually what the virtue of “charity” is about - giving another the benefit of the doubt.

Stuff like this reminds me of why I’m glad I don’t live in a big city - especially one in the Northeast.

Nevertheless, the black girl shouldn’t have been eating (public health issues), but the white woman should have minded her own business. All she did was escalate the situation by running her trap - both in the sense of fighting, AND the public health issue, since the spaghetti ended up all over the floor as a direct result of her being a busybody.

It is not unheard of but generally not done on NYC subways. On commuter rails like Metro North, NJ Transit, or the LIRR eating is fairly common (though I don’t think I’ve ever seen spaghetti). Those are generally much longer trips and the trains are often not as packed as the subways.

In DC eating on the subway or in the station can get you arreseted, even if you are 12 years old.

Obama ought to take care of this bunch and redistribute money from the makers to the takers by installing troughs on all NYC subway cars so that their transportion will be more in line with their sty lifestyle.

From what I could see and hear the white woman should have kept her mouth shut. She clearly needs a few lessons in minding her own business.

Question for the room: does it bug anybody else to have people get on the airplane with their aromatic pizza or tacos and start munching down? Bugs the crap out of me, but I may (it has been rumored) just be a curmudgeon.

Not at all!

You’d be surprised how well NYers have adapted to their confines. Every time I’ve visited, I’ve been pleasantly surprised.

Two tards out how many MILLIONS of people?

Doesn’t bother me. Once the airlines stopped feeding is it’s every man for himself.

Seems kindda silly to bring food on a 1-2 hour flight, but on a TRANSCON? I pack a lunch. It’s what tray tables are for.

I have to admit that it doesn’t bother me. Especially so now that airlines are cutting costs by reducing/eliminating the meals. I remember the first time I ever flew as a kid, we flew to Phoenix on Braniff (not even in business anymore) and the meal was actually quite good, and filling. Now, we fly to Phoenix, and you get a couple of bags of cookies or peanuts. I don’t blame people for bringing outside food onto the plane.
