Two decades have now passed since the initial "results". By now, if there was anything there, I would expect that we would have something called "the cold fusion effect".
This would be a REPRODUCIBLE experiment that would CLEARLY and UNAMBIGUOUSLY indicate that some physical process was taking place which cannot be explained by anything other than cold fusion.
Virtually every great discovery in science has been preceded by experiments whose results could not be explained, followed by theories which suggest experiments which could support or falsify the theory.
Is there a "cold fusion effect"? Not that I am aware of.
Is there a falsifiable theory of cold fusion? Not that I am aware of.
Perhaps you can educate me. I was greatly interested when this topic first surfaced. I have seen nothing to renew that interest in twenty years.
I guess I’m more hopeful, than anything. I do know that initial attempts at it were met with a hail storm of invective and closed-mindedness from the scientific and academic communities. I have seen how the scientific community often use intimidation to deter research in controversial or areas which challenge prevailing thought or sacred cows. I dont want the scientific communities to abandon the scientific method...I wish they would sometimes in some instances return to it.
